Through the national reporting initiative Report for America, we’re hiring a reporter for our multi-platform WFPL newsroom to cover communities in southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville.
We’re looking for an inquisitive, ambitious reporter who is adept at spotting trends and skilled at telling stories that illustrate the real-world effects of statewide policy decisions. You should also feel comfortable with data and filing open records requests, as well as making connections in all of southern Indiana’s communities.
This is a daily beat, meaning you’ll file regular spots for radio and the web, as well as in-depth enterprise stories. You’ll collaborate with the WFPL News staff and our Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting on special projects and reports, including our podcasts and weekly call-in show “In Conversation.”
Radio experience a plus, but not required.
Apply through Report for America here; applications are due by January 31.
